I visited the Beverly Hills store today, and I had the BEST retail experience
I've had on the West Coast and even much of the East Coast. I've recently relocated to L.A. from
Virginia, and between college and grad school, it's been a long time since I've shopped, mostly because
I haven't seen anything that moved me and didn't look sweatshop-rific. But I ventured into American
Apparel on a mission to begin building my wardrobe, and Omar and Colby were so patient, so helpful,
they ran after different sizes for me, they recommended different pieces and showed me umpteen ways
to wear them (halter dress!), they were personable, warm, and so there for "customer service" - I can't say
enough! I'm a devotee of that store now, and if there's any way to recognize Omar and Colby, I hope that can
happen. Shopping in L.A., esp. Beverly Hills, can be daunting, but that's not at all the case at American Apparel. Thank you!

I love your models. It's so nice to see real women featured for a change instead of photoshopped white chicks.
Plus I like the fact that they seem so comfortable with themselves in all of the shots.
And THANK YOU for having Asian models. It's about freaking time we finally got recognized!!!!

I was watching a TV Special about your company and I was impressed by the way your CEO
conducts it, by the energy you work with, and by the social responsability of the company. I wish this
could be done in my country. I'm from Argentina and I own a company myself and to accomplish what you have
would be a dream come true for me. I wish you even more success and want to thank you for proving that you can
suceed in business that respects and helps people, that in one way or another, are a part of our project, the human project.

I'm a 27-year-old guy from Vancouver, Canada. My friend Carrie is managing
your first store here and she's turned me on to your product/philosophy.
This past year, I've decided to work for companies that have values similar
to mine; mainly those supporting sustainability to society and the
environment. I want to thank you (Dov and the American Apparel team) for
having a heart and thinking about something other than the almighty dollar,
and for [being] inspired to do something that benefits people and their
environment (and for also making clothes that fit me so fucking well!!!).

I recently bought some of your sheer long-sleeve tees from the Classic Girl
line. I am very tall and have a horrible time finding clothes that
are long enough for me! I love your styles (body conscious and cute) and
quality, but most of all I love that your tees are long enough for my
arms and torso. I can't believe I found a T-shirt that I don't have to pull
off as a 3/4-sleeve shirt. I realize that your products are not specifically
sized for tall, petite, plus, etc., but that they fit so many different
shapes. Thank you for adding a few inches to your shirts and not being
cheap!.

What a great Web site for a great product! I've purchased your T-shirts and hoodies at bars, record stores and merchandise tables at rock shows, but it would be fantastic if you provided a list of retail locations that carry your products other than your boutiques for those of us not near NYC or L.A. After all, nothing beats trying something on and looking at color, shape and size for my body. It's very exciting you are finding a global market and I hope you prosper, but don't forget those of us in Boston, Chicago and a handful of other major American markets that would support your work. I just wanted to say that my boyfriend saw one of your ads (Mallory Lorenzana hanging out in Echo Park) and he tore it out of the magazine and told me to check out the web site, which I did. I just want to say that I love it! The women look so real to me, unlike the pencil-thin, extremely tall models most ads show. I immediately got a boost of confidence just by the women on your site. Good evening! I wasn't quite sure who I should be telling this to, but I had to write and let some one there at AA know that their web site redesign is absolutely fantastic. I just received the e-notice of the launch of your redesign, so I went to take a look. The most striking improvement is the elegance in which the information is presented. It is so easy to not only find what I am looking for, but to browse as well and the navigation is straight forward and clean. Masterful architecture. The graphics are refreshingly relevant to the company and offer an interesting perspective on the local American Apparel culture that those of us who are not near one would never get to experience. Load times for all pages are gratuitously fast! I hope that you would please forward this message on to all who were involved the redesign. I'm sure you are inundated with comments about the new site right now - but I really wanted to share my two cents. Absolutely successful! Cheers, Christen Bouffard Christen Bouffard - (Customer)

I just finished the article in New York magazine about you and your company. Although I don't know you and have never donned one of your tees, I felt the urge to let you know that yours is one hell of a story. One word, "hustler," popped out of that article and hit me between the eyes. I also fall in that category, for better or worse, and reading about you gave me inspiration and encouragement to trust my entrepreneurial instincts. I work a 9 to 5 but my work and ideas on the side never end. Working just for benefits and a 401K is the wrong way to live, and I hope that one day I can achieve the success you have. I think your strategy and ideas are a much-needed breath of fresh air in an otherwise pretentious corporate America. What other CEO gives out his e-mail address on the streets of Manhattan? Can't wait to visit an AA store next time I'm in the city. Rock on, Dov-keep doing it your way. Jason M. Hill - (Customer)

This?weekend I had my first experience with American Apparel after reading about it in New York Magazine...and I have only praise! I?ultimately visited three stores this weekend and introduced three friends to the cult. I was so impressed by the helpful, friendly staff, well-organized?stores, great music and value-for-money merchandise. As someone from a retail background, it angers me that so many stores in New York make a living with?rude staff and overpriced, low-quality merchandise -- American Apparel is proving?that you can be nice and successful. I wore my purchase out on Saturday night and felt great not only about the comfy cotton or the fact?that no sweatshops were involved, but also that I had supported a role-model company. I don't think I'll ever be able to buy cotton?anywhere else! Keep up the great work. Amanda Krawitz - (Customer)

We have?many of the same values you do.?Our competitive advantage is that all of our goods are printed in the U.S., which equals quality.?We are continually expanding our product line, and?now we are starting to use your products, which I am very pleased with.?Right now i'm getting ready to graduate from OSU with a bachelor's degree in operations management and I hope to soon be in the same position you're in. Congratulations[, Dov,] on your recent achievement of Counselor's Person of the Year. I read the article and have to comment on the numerous times they mention you as being a wacko and genius. I believe these are positive attributes for a successful visionary. I, too, share the same traits which I feel is a result of being Canadian and growing up in a Jewish family. They just don1t understand us yet they feel a need to criticize our character. It1s all good, I1d rather be crazy than quiet. You have created your own American dream and not followed in the footsteps of others. I respect what you have accomplished so far and look forward to reading the continuing saga. Outsourcing abroad doesn't have to be exploitative. Don't forget that people in the Third World need jobs more desperately than Californians. Mat Korica - (Customer) AA response: Dear Mat, Regarding your comments, which I am reading for the first time 10 minutes ago: I totally agree with you. But I think that business models can be created in the developing world that are based on efficiency, rather than just taking advantage of Third World workers. We plan to open stores all over the world, including Mexico City and many locations in Africa. No matter where we open, we will always pay the U.S. dollar minimum wage. At least five stores will be open in developed economies within the year. Although this is at least five years off, once we develop enough demand in other hemispheres we plan to open factories in those locations. Even if we open a factory in China, we will pay at least the U.S. dollar minimum wage to our workers in that country. We want to bring the principals of LIFE, LIBERTY and PROPERTY to every man worldwide, not just those fortunate to live in developed economies. This is the prosperity we have in mind for the emerging world. Sincerely, Dov Charney Senior Partner, American Apparel

Dear friends: Our local English newspaper here in Montreal (Canada) had an article on your company last Tuesday (The Montreal Gazette). I have to tell you I was very inspired by what I read about your company's sincere social conscience, coupled with deserved success in the marketplace. I was feeling particularly down about this unjust world on that day and then, wham, along came the article and I was just really inspired and moved. So thanks! Needless to say you have my business. And I am going to tell everyone I know about your stores here. Good luck! Marco Ermacora - (Customer) Read full article

I would just would like to praise the company for your EVERYTHING you do and how you do it. Your company represents everything I stand for and look for in a clothing artisan. You are not just manufacturers. You are artists. These are the companies I try to buy all my products from. You are local Angelenos and you make your product here in this great country in a time where we have almost no options other than to purchase what is the most inexpensive product, regardless of whether or not it is sweatshop clothing produced from materials in unsustainable manners. I purchased an article of clothing by a company CultureJunkie.com who used your shirts for their product. I saw and read the attached tag with all the information pertaining to your company and was immediately a new regular customer. Keep up the good work. I do prefer organic cotton/hemp fiber. I did read that your company is transitioning. I will buy many more products from your company because I wish to support what you do. Thank you for what you do and keep up the great work! Greetings American Apparel I am a very satisfied customer of your products that lives out in Long Island, New York. Tonight I just got back from a 3 day hacker conference in NYC where I was wearing my favorite lime green shirt from you guys. Lo and behold I ran into another fellow wearing the same shirt, we exchanged pleasantries for a bit and then went on our way. After I returned home I noticed your ad on the back of issue #52 of The Indypendent. I wrote this note so that you will be aware that there are people like myself that appreciate that your company exists, does what it does, and allows me to feel that I can make a positive contribution just by buying a T-shirt. I wanted whoever reads this to feel proud to work for a company that has such a positive vision. Whenever they feel the world is beating them up to remember that someone out here in New York appreciates them and the work they do. I wish you all the best of luck and only the best for you and your crew. Feel free to reprint or pass this letter along however you see fit! ps.......... my t-shirts are mmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad cumfy too! Jsin Kaze - (Customer)

Today I read a small article in the Hartford Courant (Hartford, CT) newspaper about your company, which I had never heard of before. The article mentioned how your company has committed itself to a sweatshop-free work environment. I would just like to say thanks for being human and treating humans with respect and dignity. I wish you the greatest of success. Now excuse me while I browse your online store. James Szymaszek - (Customer)

I'm a college student, and in one of my classes, we covered a topic on sweatshops. I just want to say that you're great for having a sweatshop-free company. It's the way all companies should be. I'm studying for a career in fashion and wanted to know if you had interships available. Thank you you do such a great job. Yoly - (Customer)

My family buys your fabulous T-shirts online, and we even stumbled upon one of your retail stores while recently in NYC. We are so proud of you. In this day of corporate greed, you are a shining example that profitablity need not suffer when workers are well-paid and the company adheres to a socially responsible mission statement. We think you rock and will continue to support/spread the word about your high-quality products and fabulous company. I work in health/entertainment and hope to one day figure out a way to collaborate on a cool project. Continued success to all. Please contact me as soon as possible regarding this matter. I have been truly inspired and amazed by the ethics and functionality of American Apparel. The way it has differentiated itself from other manufacturers is truly awesome. I am currently a student from the UK on an internship in marketing. My work is solely based in the retail industry and my research has led me to discover that there is nothing [progressive in the clothing world] happening here in London. Consumers here are going back to the market stalls where they can go back to basics. Hundreds of students here are looking for clothes that are fresh, basic and, most of all, fit right. Top Shop and other major fashion retailers are bombarding the British youth with over-the-top designs that do not have the right type of fit. Many of my friends at university shop at H&M but are constantly complaining about the quality. American Apparel has everthing that many young British consumers are looking for. Please let me know if you need any help with marketing or any other information as I would love to help and give American Apparel to the British people. John Banholzer - (Customer)

I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you how dope you are. Keep up the great designs, ethical practices and informing the world on what kind of shit we regularly choose to support. Thanks for providing a voice for the workers around the world that many of us take advantage of through following the latest fashion trend. Now we can turn to conscious companies like you to be responsible and stylish! Thanks for providing options for me as a consumer and inspiration for me as a fashion designer. Kelli Smith - (Customer)

I admire your company's vision and direction. You're setting a positive and innovative standard for the industry. Being involved with the independent music scene, I'm very happy to see someone in the apparel industry practice some of the same philosophies and ethics that my associates and I do. Your company has put my faith back in America. I was familiar with your brand but hadn't been to the store in L.A. I was just there and it is wonderful. The merchandise is great, the prices fabulous and your mission is amazing. There is hope. Thank you so much. Helen Eigenberg - (Customer)

I'm a fan of your shirts. Everything you do is very nice and it's easy to feel the quality. If they were available, I would buy boxers, bikers, socks, shirts and even jeans from you. Your idea of the workplace and environment makes me feel so relaxed. If only all companies had the same ideas and visions. The world would not be perfect, but at least we would feel free to buy a shirt without feeling guilty for the damage made to the environment and to the lives of children in other countries. I am a very conscious consumer and have a hard time finding clothes that both fit my style needs and social and political convictions. I really appreciate what you folks are doing at American Apparel. As a Mexican-American, I'm very glad to see someone in the mainstream stick up for the rights of workers and offer English language classes to bring an [opportunity] of upward mobility to my people. I read about American Apparel and am a big fan of buying American. I am not jingoistic about it, as I come from a family of immigrants and have married someone from another country. [I believe that] other countries need to have work, too. It's just that I would much rather buy an American-made product than one from another nation with poorly paid sweatshop labor. I applaud your efforts and it seems that with American Apparel retail stores opening in New York and Montreal, you are moving in an upward direction. I already consider myself an evangelist of your products. Thank you for fighting what is surely an uphill but winnable battle against labor and trade exploitation. Terry Shea - (Customer)

I am a very pleased customer and someone who likes to be aware of the practices of the companies I support. I appreciate the corporate philosophy that your company has taken and would like to share that with a larger group. I am a senior at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and most people [here] don't know of your company. I recently discovered your company while searching for the perfect T-shirt on which to print my designs. I saw one of your plain T-shirts in a local store and fell in love with it. After going to your Web site, I fell in love with your company. For the past couple of weeks, I have been watching your films and interviews and reading all the articles about American Apparel. As a young man just out of college, I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to find a company that is so committed to quality both in its product and methodology for conducting business. You are truly an inspiration. The youth of this nation and global community can only follow your lead and hope that we can make a real difference through innovation rather than by fostering subhuman working conditions around the world. I think that your company is a real ray of hope. I work for a company that is going to shut down a very large part of its operation and move to another country. You are in a market sector that is one of the most competitive and yet you are thriving here in the U.S. I am going to post the article from Salon.com on the board at work just to let people know that hard work and fair treatment and a great company can make it [in this country]. I hope more companies will follow your lead. I will look for products and wear them with pride, knowing the background of their production. Jeff Eccleston - (Customer)

I got some free underwear for my girlfriend (which I have to say are very cute on her). And when I got it, I decided to check your company out. It was a real breath of fresh air to see a company that actually cares about its impact on the world and not just the bottom line. I am economically conservative and politically liberal, so I care about the bottom line too, but I am also interested in treating people as people and not revolving credit cards. I just wanted to say that I am happy to support your company because you have a fresh minimalistic style (not to mention the cute camis you guys make for girls) and that hopefully our paths will cross one day. I am applying to law school (New York schools only however) and perhaps one day when I figure out how I am going to contribute politically and socially in this world, you guys will be interested in being a part of it - if law school hasn't corrupted me first. I am thinking about buying your plain T-shirts and altering them for tongue-in-cheek political statements. Oh yeah, thanks for opening up a store right around the corner from my favorite bar in NYC. Hi, my name is Alexander Knuckles. I must say that not only was I impressed with the ethics that American Apparel operates within, I was rather moved by the whole philosophy of the factory. I think you take this to the next level. I congratulate you. Alexander Knuckles - (Customer)

The company seems to have stayed true to its colors since day one. That's fucking awesome!! The web site wasn't bad before but it just got ten times better. The quality of the garments has stayed the same as well. Other companies get bigger and the quality goes to fucking shit, yet stupid people still buy from them. Not in your case. And the other super kick-ass shit I love about you is this: the roots of the company are Canadian. I'm Canadian and Canada kicks fucking serious ass. Canada RULES!!!! Sorry about the "bad" words I've used, but it gets the fuckin' point across a lot quicker, I find. PEACE OUT, YO! I also think you should use me as one of your models cause I have an edge and I know it's a part of the market that you have not yet delved into. Contact me if you would like me to send a pic. You like non-professional models! Bingo!!! That's me. l Please contact me as soon as possible regarding this matter. Dougie Styles - (Customer)

I watched some of a video about your company on CNN yesterday. I just wanted you to know how much I support your company's decision to keep jobs in the U.S., when so many apparel jobs are being performed by children working for pennies a day in appalling conditions. I am also sick and tired of foreign made clothes that fall apart quickly, with buttons that fall off after 3 washings and seams that unravel, etc. Where can I buy your clothes? I mean, I am willing to support your business with my wallet, not just lip service and help your bottom line. Thank you, Kathy Stanley - (Customer)

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, I just saw a news report on American Apparel on CNN's Lou Dobbs show. I'm elated to see that you are proving that keeping jobs in America is not only the moral high ground, but that it also makes good economic sense. Considering also your commendable decision to avoid the ridiculous trend of scattering operational departments across the world and trying to manage from afar, I feel strongly that you will continue to succeed. Thank you very much for having the courage to buck the trends and do the right thing. For some time I have been making a determined effort to buy American and companies like American Apparel make that possible. I hope you can persuade retailers to make note of your "Made in USA" quality in their product descriptions so that consumers like me can continue to support our fellow Americans. Again, thank you, Bob Hurley - (Customer)

I didn't realize any garments were made in the US. Bravo! We are taking a Spring break trip to NYC so our entire family will be checking out your store there. I commend you for creating and maintaining good paying jobs in the US. We need more companies like yours, of course, we the consumers have an obligation also. Dear American Apparel, I was walking around the city the other day, my mission that day was buying books for class when I saw your store on lower B'way in NYC. I had remembered seeing your ads in several fashion/art/home magazines and decided to check it out. Long story short I ended up with purchases of about $150. The next day I flipped through the catalog, visited your web site and had to go back and really check out other stuff that I hadn't seen the first time. Needless to say I ended up dropping another $200! I was completely blown away by your media clips, your company philosophy and mission! They literally brought tears to my eyes! Where else can you find form, fucntion and CAUSE in everyday purchases? Especially in a time when fashion can be regarded as superficial, you guys have proved that wrong! You have a product, image and philosopy that I can totally buy into! Your concerns for people and the environment is outstanding!!! I'm hooked! Congatulations on your successes! Sincerely, A NEW loyal customer "New Yorker and a Native So. Californian" Marn Albano - (Customer)

I just wanted to say that I totally appreciate all that goes on at American Apparel and think that it's truly amazing... I am based in Charlottesville Va and have been running my underground clothing line for a couple of years, Cilli Original Designs..... I am also painting, designing, writing and building my own little culture as well and just opened a gallery to spread the vibe in the city... I have been a client of AA for several years now and have recently decided to push forward and spend the extra money to use nothing but AA products... I am trying to reach folks all over as well with my positive message and vibe, I want people to feel the poetry and to love the product, there is nothing more to love than the quality and style of the AA line... My newest tee is the Charcoal Fine Jersey which is the first item on my clothing store in shirts on the web. The name of the shirt is "listen to silence" and I just placed an order last week for more guysO threads and new flavor for the ladies... I look forward to getting it in and printed and then up on the site for all to enjoy. I just wanted to take the time to say thanks for your efforts Dov. Your vibe is helping me bring the culture that I dream of to life. Check it all out on my site at www.cillidesigns.com I am adding you guys to my links and actually writing news as well to promote your energy. Thanks for your time and I would love to send you some of my line for you to sport in LA... Take care and God bless... Monty Montgomery - (Wholesale)

Having read about your position on employment policies and your commitment to your workers, I am deeply impressed. I am in the International Transportation Industry and derive a large part of my income from the movement of textiles to and from the U. S. I lived in Guatemala between 1985 and 1995 and watched closely the development of the maquilladoras of Central America. During that time I fell in love with Hispanic culture and the people of the region. I am quite familiar with the exploitation that occurs there as well as in the textile and garment industries of the L. A. area; upon my return to the U.S., I handled the logistics for a large textile manufacturer located in Los Angeles. You are to be applauded for your insight and action. I am truly impressed. I recently bought a t-shirt in support of DemocracyNow.org. I noticed your tag on the shirt and was overjoyed by the fact that the t-shirt did not come from a sweat shop. I read through your Mission and Politics and whole-heartedly support for business philosophy. I have lauched a web site last October, www.lifeknot.com and am looking to print t-shirts. I have been thinking about using cafepress.com for the free online store/printing/shipping they provide. I will write them to see if an arrangement can be made where I use your t-shirts. Have you any standing business relationship with cafepress.com? Thank you for your time. I applaud your business ethics and wish you much success. All the best, Matt Muro Matt Muro - (Customer)

I recently bought some of your sheer long-sleeve tees from the Classic Girl line. I am very tall and have a horrible time finding clothes that are long enough for me! I love your styles (body conscious and cute) and quality, but most of all I love that your tees are long enough for my arms and torso. I can't believe I found a T-shirt that I don't have to pull off as a 3/4-sleeve shirt. I realize that your products are not specifically sized for tall, petite, plus, etc., but that they fit so many different shapes. Thank you for adding a few inches to your shirts and not being cheap! So, when are you going to make underwear for cute young men? I'm a 23-year-old heterosexual male, and I can't seem to find a pair of underwear. It seems so ridiculous that nobody makes a decent pair of underwear for a young man. All those major companies manufacture such?crap. The models on the packages are big, buff juggernauts, and I'm just a small, little guy. In fact, I don't know a single guy who identifies with that image. Their colors are atrocious, and the cuts are just gross. Is that supposed to be "sexy"?! Give me a break-I just want to wear colorful, cute, simple briefs without a grotesque logo on the waistband. Like your ClassicGirl Boy Brief, but actually for boys (like me!). Please, please?make me some underwear soon. Right now I feel embarrased to take off my pants. American Apparel has become such an addiction.? I went to a concert last weekend, which was fantastic! I loved the band and I loved their design on their t-shirt, but I had to look at the tag in the collar to see if it was American Apparel before I would fork out the cost of a concert T-shirt. When I see that it's AA I know exactly how it's going to fit I don't have to try it on. The sizes and quality are always the same. Angela L. Jones - (Customer)

Wow! I can't believe this -- it's great! I first heard about you on TV but then I recognized the logo and remembered that I bought [an American Apparel-made] T-shirt from a concert. I think you should get more bands/singers to buy and use your products. I love the idea that you take a stand [against] sweatshops. I think it's awesome. I think you should get everyone that you can involved in this excellent thing. I wish to get involved somehow. Although I am under age, I would still love to help where it's needed because I have a strong opinion/feeling [against] having sweatshops around the world. Shelly - (Customer)

My friends and I all love your products and would love to see a few other things, like sports bras (ones we can work out in and do not move), pants for guys (our guy friends are a bit jealous that they only get shirts and jackets) and maybe some extra colors for some of the already existing styles. Like Asphalt for the yoga pants and orange and/or yellow for the shorts. We just wanted to put in our two cents worth and let you know that we love your stuff so much that we want to see more P - (Customer)

Not to mention that everything is made in L.A. and [that] I love your company's policy; more companies should do the same. So happy that you finally have stores in Montreal. I have a great AA story to tell you: I was walking down Broadway today in Soho near my office and this guy was going on and on about how great AA product was to his girlfriend. I almost thought it was a a plant or something - a new kind of guerilla marketing! He said (and I quote) "American Apparel is so great. It's all in the cut, their stuff isn't all loose and baggy so that it hangs on you. Have you ever seen a custom made suit? It's like that, it really fits well" I swear that I am not making this up. He compared it to a bespoke suit. So congratulations on having such an aware customer! Best Regards, Cathy - (Customer)

I ordered a T-shirt and received it last Friday. Amazing fit. Amazing feel. A little shrinkage, but I assume that's expected. I had to find out who made this magnificent shirt. I applaud your staff. What thrills me about American Apparel is that it is one of the few T-shirt makers that perfectly balances looking good (fashion-wise) and feeling good (no one has been harmed in the production [process]). I am a designer for a couture bridal team, Sew Elegant, based out of New Jersey. We are branching out and doing more of a mainstream and somewhat funky line. I met with one of your sales reps at the Atlantic City convention and fell in love with the quality and prices of your product. Heads up on how nice and neat the display was and how cool the reps were. I will definitely be getting a hold of you in the near future to do business! Kat Beail - (Customer)

A new product suggestion is a men's boxer brief. This market is absolutely empty right now and ready for a new player. Unbranded, well-styled men's boxer briefs do not exist. Either they're too beefcake, too poorly designed or they're billboarding their brand on your waistband ... it's missing another part of the market. Montgomery Knott - (Customer) Montgomery, you're not alone in your suggestion. We've heard complaints from many males about the lack of a decent boxer brief out there. Look for our solution in the fall.

I visited the Beverly Hills store today, and I had the BEST retail experience I've had on the West Coast and even much of the East Coast. I've recently relocated to L.A. from Virginia, and between college and grad school, it's been a long time since I've shopped, mostly because I haven't seen anything that moved me and didn't look sweatshop-rific. But I ventured into American Apparel on a mission to begin building my wardrobe, and Omar and Colby were so patient, so helpful, they ran after different sizes for me, they recommended different pieces and showed me umpteen ways to wear them (halter dress!), they were personable, warm, and so there for "customer service" - I can't say enough! I'm a devotee of that store now, and if there's any way to recognize Omar and Colby, I hope that can happen. Shopping in L.A., esp. Beverly Hills, can be daunting, but that's not at all the case at American Apparel. Thank you! Shayna - (Customer)

I am a journalism student at the University of King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I used an assigned piece on online shopping as an excuse to go beyond the "no sweatshops" line you have and to really try to understand the meaning behind the brand. I think that Halifax should be a city that enjoys the quality and genuine style of an American Apparel store. While arguably it's not as fast-paced and trendy as Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver, it's got four major universities and/or colleges, and the average age of a Halifax resident is 25. Needless to say, I think it's obvious that this city fits in with your "for youth by youth" archetype. Jaclyn Greenberg - (Customer) Jaclyn, Thank you for your comments. We plan to open a store in Halifax before June. We believe in Halifax. Dov

Last night I finally got a chance to visit the new American Apparel store in Toronto. I thought I would let you know that the staff was very nice, helpful, and fun. I also wanted to let you know that I absolutely LOVE your products, and as long as they continue to be "sweatshop free" I will be a loyal consumer and purchase your products not only for myself, but as gifts for others too. I think that this world needs more companies like American Apparel. THANK YOU for finally opening a store in Toronto. Mirna Ketenjian - (Customer)

I wanted to write and say that I am delighted to hear you will be opening a new retail location in London! I currently work at an independent clothing store (Suedehead in Olean, NY) that carries your products, and I was worried about not getting American Apparel when I move to london next month. I was so excited to read about your employee benefits and working conditions. As one who works in the fashion industry, it is often discouraging to see the way the factories are run.
