JOB DESCRIPTION American Apparel is looking for a meticulous Fabric Quality Control Assistant with a broad knowledge of inspection methods. This is an entry level position that offers training, if necessary. This individual should be very attentive to detail and able to offer knowledgeable insight. This person should be ready to assist with any fabric quality control issues that may arise. Good vision is a plus!
This is an hourly position that will require some Saturdays of overtime. Compensation is based on previous work experience and salary history. Other duties of the position include but are not limited to those described below.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with inspection of fabric on vendor and/or dye-house premises Assist with identifying, following-up, evaluating and logging quality issues Close communicating with Supervisors and Fabric Planning Dept. Submitting daily inspection reports on findings Communicating with Supervisors and Fabric Planning Dept. regarding fabrics in process Coordinate fabric pick-up and/or delivery
REQUIREMENTS Broad knowledge of different types of fabric and dye-house processes Good computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel Excellent communication and reporting skills
PREFERED SKILLS Some knowledge of fabric inspections methods Bilingual in English and Spanish 20/20 vision Available to start ASAP
